A Call to Prayer

Headlines of crucifixions and beheadings in Iraq and Syria fill my newsfeed this morning. The report below is one of the less inflammatory things I have heard. The church in Syria is under heavy attack right now. Many are calling for military intervention. The Syrian church does not want this.

We don’t need more bombs. The most powerful weapon in our arsenal is the prayers of the saints. Let us lift up our Syrian brothers and sisters, remembering their trials as if they were our own.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
